Our Hobbies

Taro’s Favorite Things
![]() | Love Gaming & Virtual Photography I’m a huge gamer. When I’m playing, I enter a zone of absolute concentration! Honestly, after a stressful day outside, Gaming is a De-stress activity for me. I love dragging Otsuki to play with me and that makes gaming even more fun. I also love using the photo mode in video games. Lately I don’t progress in the story mode in some video games! I get trapped in photo mode for hours! |
![]() | Love Food & Eating Next to gaming, eating is my absolute favorite thing! I’m pretty much an omnivore and will eat anything, but I definitely prefer rich, heavy, and strongly seasoned flavors. Over the last few years, I’ve actually gotten pretty good at cooking, and my recipe lineup keeps growing! |
![]() | Into Music I’ve been into rock music ever since I was a little kid. Thanks to older generations who made me listen to their music from their eras I have become a fanatic of the genre. I could say you’d be surprised to what I listen but mostly the music I love listening the most ranges from the 1960’s to mid 2000’s! |
![]() | Hooked on the Unknown Sometimes I enjoy watching Horror movies on my own alone at night. I’m also endlessly curious about UFOs, the paranormal, traditional Japanese monsters (yokai), Zombies and everything in between. What can I say, they are just fun topics to get away from reality. |
![]() | Football (World Cup Only!) I usually don’t care for sports at all, but football is a totally different story—it gets my blood pumping! That said, I don’t follow regular matches; I only get insanely hyped once every four years for the World Cup. I also play and do some simulated football video games matches. |
![]() | Fascinated by Astronomy I love learning about space and astronomy. My poor wife doesn’t know much about it, but I still bombard her with overly complex space facts and confuse the heck out of her. |

Otsuki’s Favorite Things
![]() | Obsessed with Tableware I just can’t get enough of nice tableware! Finding beautiful plates and bowls instantly brightens my day. Nothing gets me more excited than holding a piece I love and daydreaming about how to present food on it. I even have a full kintsugi (traditional Japanese gold repair) kit at home, just in case one of my favorites accidentally breaks! |
![]() | Pottery Addict Beyond tableware, I’m deeply in love with all kinds of pottery—vases, bonsai pots, ceramic jars, you name it. I appreciate everything from cute, charming designs to moody, sophisticated ones. Whenever I go to a pottery market, I get completely hooked and can never bring myself to leave. |
![]() | Love Taking Photos I take my trusty Canon camera with me absolutely everywhere! I’m actually registered as a creator on a Japanese stock photography platform “Photo AC”. Right now, I shoot purely based on intuition, but I’m planning to study the technical side of photography to level up my skills. |
![]() | Fascinated by Medicinal Herbs My ultimate goal is to turn my garden into a full-blown medicinal herb haven! I’m expanding it little by little—goji berries, gardenias, and Job’s tears are my newest additions. I’m striving for a lifestyle where I naturally incorporate herbs into my daily routine for beauty and health. |
![]() | Spontaneous DIY (do-it-yourself) & Crafts Sometimes I get a sudden urge to make things from scratch. I’ve woven baskets out of vines growing in my field, tried botanical dyeing, and even braided my own shimenawa (traditional New Year straw decorations). I’ve also had huge phases with knitting and tsumami zaiku (traditional cloth craft). Crafting by hand lets me completely clear my mind. |
![]() | Intrigued by UFOs For reasons I can’t quite explain, I’ve been fascinated by UFOs since my teens. I even traveled with my husband all the way to New Mexico to attend the UFO Festival in Roswell! It was really fun! |
